<h4 class="label">Construction Status</h4>
<p>The Birmingham England Temple is currently in the planning stages. No groundbreaking date has been announced.</p>

<h4 class="label">Temple Rendering</h4>
<p>On February 26, 2024, the official exterior rendering for the Birmingham England Temple was released to the public.<sup>1</sup></p>

<h4 class="label">Temple Site</h4>
<p>On December 18, 2023, the property for the Birmingham England Temple was announced as a 2.7-acre site at 185-187 Penns Lane where the meetinghouse for the Wylde Green Ward and the offices for the England Birmingham Mission are located. Plans call for a single-story temple of approximately 10,800 square feet, patron housing, and arrival facilities.<sup>2</sup></p>

<h4 class="label">Temple Announcement</h4>
<p>On April 3, 2022, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Birmingham England Temple at the April 2022 General Conference. There are more than 190,000 members of the Church of Jesus Christ in the United Kingdom. A temple in Birmingham will be England's third. The <a href="/london-england-temple/" onmouseover="showTip('london-england-temple')" onmouseout="unTip()">London England Temple</a> was the first (dedicated in 1958), followed by the <a href="/preston-england-temple/" onmouseover="showTip('preston-england-temple')" onmouseout="unTip()">Preston England Temple</a> (dedicated in 1998). Missionaries arrived in England in 1837, only seven years after the Church was established. England is home to the oldest continuous congregation of the Church.
