TEMPLE INFORMATION
<h4 class="label">Groundbreaking Ceremony</h4>
<p>The groundbreaking for the Fort Worth Texas Temple was held on Saturday, October 28, 2023. Elder Jose L. Alonso, a General Authority Seventy and First Counselor in the North America Southwest Area Presidency, presided. In his site dedicatory prayer, Elder Alonso said: "Our hearts are full of appreciation for the treasured gift of Thy Beloved Son, Jesus Christ. His divine mission provides hope and purpose. Through His atonement, we find solace during trials, and through His grace, we are fortified with strength and encouragement to serve our neighbors."<sup>1</sup></p>

<h4 class="label">Temple Rendering</h4>
<p>On October 31, 2022, the official exterior rendering of the Fort Worth Texas Temple was released to the public.</p>

<h4 class="label">Temple Site</h4>
<p>On October 31, 2022, the location of the Fort Worth Texas Temple was announced as a 9.37-acre site located north of SW Hulen Street and Greenridge Drive in Burleson. Plans call for a single-story temple of approximately 30,000 square feet.<sup>2</sup></p>

<h4 class="label">Temple Announcement</h4>
<p>On October 3, 2021, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Fort Worth Texas Temple at the October 2021 General Conference. The Fort Worth Texas Temple will be the sixth temple for The Lone Star State. There are more than 360,000 Latter-day Saints in Texas. Fort Worth, located west of Dallas in north central Texas in the United States, is historically known for its cattle trade. Other Texas temples are the neighboring <a href="/dallas-texas-temple/" onmouseover="showTip('dallas-texas-temple')" onmouseout="unTip()">Dallas Texas Temple</a>, <a href="/houston-texas-temple/" onmouseover="showTip('houston-texas-temple')" onmouseout="unTip()">Houston Texas Temple</a>, <a href="/lubbock-texas-temple/" onmouseover="showTip('lubbock-texas-temple')" onmouseout="unTip()">Lubbock Texas Temple</a>, <a href="/san-antonio-texas-temple/" onmouseover="showTip('san-antonio-texas-temple')" onmouseout="unTip()">San Antonio Texas Temple</a>, and <a href="/mcallen-texas-temple/" onmouseover="showTip('mcallen-texas-temple')" onmouseout="unTip()">McAllen Texas Temple</a>. Missionary work began in Texas in 1843.<sup>3</sup></p>
